Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Fund Ourselves short term loans.

Borrowing
How much can I borrow with Fund Ourselves?
New customers can borrow between £50 and £800. Returning customers in good standing may be eligible to borrow up to £1,200, subject to affordability assessment.
How long do I have to repay?
Fund Ourselves loans are repaid over 4 to 6 months in equal monthly instalments. You choose your preferred repayment date when applying — most customers choose payday or the last working day of the month.
What is the interest rate?
The representative rate is 211% APR (fixed). The maximum daily rate is 0.8% per day, capped by the FCA. The total cost of your loan, including all interest and fees, will never exceed 100% of the original amount borrowed.
Eligibility
Who can apply for a Fund Ourselves loan?
You must be a UK resident aged 18 or over with a regular source of income and a UK bank account. You must also be able to demonstrate that you can afford the monthly repayments.
Can I apply with bad credit?
Yes, we consider applications from people with less than perfect credit. We assess each application individually, looking at your current income and outgoings rather than solely relying on your credit history.
Does applying affect my credit score?
Our initial eligibility check uses a soft credit search which is not visible to other lenders and does not affect your score. A full application involves a hard credit search which will be recorded on your credit file.
Repayments
How are repayments collected?
Repayments are collected by Direct Debit from your bank account on your chosen repayment date each month. The amount is fixed and shown clearly in your loan agreement before you sign.
Can I repay early?
Yes, you can make overpayments or settle your loan in full at any time. There are no early repayment fees and paying early will reduce the total interest you pay.
What happens if I miss a payment?
We will contact you as soon as possible. A maximum default fee of £15 may apply in line with FCA regulations. Please contact us immediately if you are struggling — we can discuss options including payment plans. For free debt help, visit moneyhelper.org.uk.
